St. John Vision Statement:   “Sharing Christ’s Love and Forgiveness with all People”

St. John will be having special services in the year 2010 to give Praise and Glory to the Lord for all His
bountiful blessings that he has bestowed on this congregation in the past 150 years.  In 1860, the
Rev. Theodore Diechmann arrived in this area to gather the scattered families and form the first
Lutheran Church in Effingham County, IL.  We would like to encourage all our friends, neighbors and
former members to join us in 2010 in praising Him for all who have gone before us and for all who
continue in contributing to the mission and growth of our congregation.
